Can someone please tell me the name of the all pellet food they feed their sun conure? Also where can you find it such as petsmart.

Right now I feed my conure Fiesta Max which has a mixture of many things in it but I don't think its providing him with enough nutrition since he only picks out the good stuff anyways. I have tried giving him fruits and veggies on my own but he refuses to eat it.

Any advice would help greatly!

I use Harrison's and Higgins. Try to get ones without all those dyes that make them look like skittles, they generally have a lot of sugar and coloring. Roudybush is sold by petsmart.
A few others are also well. May I suggest Nutriberries during the transition? They are shelled seeds coated with pellet material. It's better to crush them also so your bird doesn't notice too much of a difference. Using Nutriberries made conversion effortless for me, and my bird is finicky. Petsmart and actually all pet stores carry Nutriberries, they come in tubs and bags.

Hey! I have a 5 month old Sun Conure. When I got him, he was on an all seed diet. I cold-turkey switched out his seeds for Roudybush pellets small size (though I think medium would be more appropriate). He LOVES them. There was no adjustment period. I fed him one from my hand and after that he was hooked. He loves them as much as his treats and fresh veggies and fruits. They also contain no preservatives or harmful dyes and have a slightly higher fat content which keeps his wings shiny. I bought them at petsmart and definitely recommend them. :)

The best pellets available at Petsmart are zupreem natural and Roudybush.

I use Harrison's pellets and order them from mysafebirdstore.com, it actually cost the same(and sometimes less) than buying at specialty stores or the vet even with shipping.

I also feed Harrison's.

Charlie came to me eating Zupreem Fruitblend, and I fed one bag of that before switching to Zupreem Natural. After Zupreem "raised" their prices, I switched to Roudybush (which was then cheaper). I now feed Harrison's.

I have a conure coming to me that eats Lafebers Tropical Fruit Nutriberries, so I'm going to buy some of those for her... also trying to find Goldenfeast Conure Gourmet Blend, but Kathie at MySafeBirdStore doesn't carry that one... I'll probably eventually switch her over to Harrison's and maybe Goldenfeast with the Lafebers as treats? We'll see.

Just started ours on nutriberries. How before we should switch pellets. He is now 4 months old.

I would start mixing them in now. Try handfeeding them as well...sometimes it helps to break into tiny pieces and pop them right in his mouth, or eat a few in front of him.

I also feed Harrison's high potency in "fine". It was a hit the moment I introduced it.

Harrison's all the way... I feed the HP Coarse and HP Fine. Rio gets both because she sometimes likes to hold her pellets with her foot and the coarse is larger than the fine. Kiwi gets the fine, she is a parrotlet, the fine is the perfect size for her.

When I got my GCC, he was on a pellet/seed mixed diet. I switched him onto Zupreem Fruit pellets over the period of a couple days. It was close to a cold-turkey switch and he took it as well as I could have dreamed of!

A small local pet shop near me has it luckily, but yea you can order it online or get it from a vet. Apparently Petsmart and PETCO do not have it :/

I buy mine from www.mysafebirdstore.com shipping is reasonable if you buy 100 or more you get free shipping...and there are codes you can use to get 10% off your order

Why do you all feed your birds Harrison's? Mine loves the Zupreem fruit blend, but the red dyes seem to make it harder to clean up her poo. Consequently, red is her favorite.

I'm contemplating changing her, but she seems to love the banana shaped pieces since she can hold them easily.

Interesting! My GCC hates the banana ones, and I've talked to a lot of conure owners who have the same issues.

She's not too picky, it seems. I have read the same thing. She prefers the red pieces, which are banana shaped also, but she eats the yellow ones, too. If she's left alone all day, which is rare, she grinds every piece in her bowl down to crumbs.

I read a review on Amazon that stated they reformulated the mix and changed the shape of the banana pieces. I believe they made the pieces thinner instead of round, but I had never used them before that so I can't say for sure.
