My bg has laid 3 eggs in the past 12 days. Usually lays 1 every 3 or 4 months. Took her 2 days to pass the last one. Working out of town. Roomate called this moening and said she was making sounds like she was in pain and looked uncomfortable. I will be home tonight. Does anyone have experience with a situation like this?

Parrots "usually" lay an egg every other day or so, if it takes longer she could be egg-bound. Egg binding can be serious so you probably want to take her to the vet. Raising the humidity level around her cage and keeping her warm may help her pass the egg. Whatever you do, don't try to manually "help" her pass the egg as the egg can break inside of her.

I have a friend who has had prolapse issues with her U2. If she appears to be struggling I would personally get her to the vet.

My BG is doing fine. Her moaning was her way of grieving for me while I was out of town. My room mate had never heard it and thought she was in pain. When I got home from my 3 day trip she left the bottom of the cage, got on the perch and pressed herself agains the cage while sticking her leg out asking for attention. I put my bags down and spend about and hour letting her snuggle on my chest. She has laid a 4th egg and everything went well. No struggle. I am concerned she is laying too many eggs and wonder if I have the diet wrong. I have 2 BG and feed them the same thing. I wipe one egg together with 1/3 cup brown rice 1/3 cup frozen or canned mixed veg. and two coffee scoops of Harrision's that I have put through the blender to break down so it mixes well with the other ingredients. I split it between the two of them. I have not given them seed in at least 3 months. I offer them fruit late morning and mid afternoon. I started this diet when I began working at getting them off seed (both eat only seed when I acquired them 14 months ago. Is there a problem with what I am doing? The are in great temperament and active and their feathers are beautiful.
