My 5 week-old lovebird was attacked by my other lovebird pair and practically ripped off all of its feathers off its back! It wasn't bleeding profusely but I did manage to clean up most of the blood. The wound is still fresh, no bleeding, but I wanted to know if there is anything I can put on the wound to make it better and eventually heal.
I know I should go to the vet but the last time I went to a vet it was so expensive and we don't have that kind of money at the moment. We put some peroxide on its wound and it has cleaned up nice but I just wanted to make sure I have done everything in my power.
If I have no choice but to go to the vet I will. I love my little lovie and I just want it to get better. :rainbow1:

I would say your only choice right now is take it to the vet, you never know how serious something is.

Awww i know how you feel. I would say if in a few days you feel like your baby is still in pain you should take it to the vet. I would never take a chance. But if he seems fine and there the wound has healed and the feathers are growing back God willing he may just get better. But do check up on him during the day and see how he looks...if not well just take him to the vet.

Definitely get the bird to the vet as soon as you can. In the meantime, please do not use peroxide on wounds as it damages healthy tissue. Something like dilute betadine will work much better.

I suggest to bring your pet to the one who really take good care of sick animal and that would be a veterinarian. They know more about what to do rather than you will put the life of your pet on your hand.It doesn't matter if it costs expensive but the topic here is the life of your lovebird.

Do you have the wound photo? You can try applying betadine salve on the wound. Putting a collar made from carton, and finally put the bird in a separate quarantine cage, better if you have an incubator. :)
