Transport Day!!

So I pick up my GCC today, and I couldn't get a vet appointment, but Petco said I will be given the birds previous vet records to date, so I'm not too worried at the moment. So, I bought a travel carrier and was wondering if I should bring it home in that, or bring it home in whatever Petco provides, which I'm sure is a thin cardboard box.

Take the travel carrier... it will be much more comfortable for your bird going home in that. You can line it with paper towels.

How long is the trip home? I'd say anything under an hour you shouldn't have to put in any food, but if a longer ride home you could give a couple things to nibble on/some water.

I totally agree! In fact, I'm a "wild and crazy" driver, so I cover both sides by cutting grapes in half.
I just thought, GCC's love blueberries and raspberries. Both of those have plenty of moisture. Just be ready for colored poop!

The lol was because you are worried about a five minute trip without food. That attention to detail, and high level of concern about your new Baby, plus all of your other posts .and me think you will be great!!! Because I too worry about my babies in great detail. Having food that could spill just for s short trip, heck I'd have something too, because I hate for one second they could be with out, or of s traffic jam. It was certainly meet with good cheer! We are all excited you are getting your new baby, abd we all remember how fun, exciting, and stressful it can be.

Congrats! Remember, it will probably be hard at first, but don't get discouraged if your bird seems very scared etc. YOU'VE GOT THIS!
