Gilbert Oliver, Blue Crown Conure; Georgie, Sun Conure (2/8/01-8/8/12) RIP little girl; Percy, budgie 1993-1999. RIP Pepito-spanish timbrado canary
I lost my sun conure 2 weeks ago, very suddenly, and she was a perfectly healthy 11 and a half year old. I am devastated. I tried to do everything i could do to keep her healthy and happy and emotionally secure.

I ordered a necropsy and this is what i got: "Histologic findings are consistent with acute shock, most likely blunt trauma. There is no evidence of an underlying infectious disease process. The bird was in good to excellent nutritional status."

It happened while i was at work and she was safely locked in her cage (which is a high quality King's Cage). I have absolutely no idea what happened to her?! I wonder if she heard a loud noise and was startled and went flapping around and hit something?

Has anyone ever seen such a thing? I'm sick over it! :( I was leaving for work, she came out to give me my kiss, i said bye bye, closed her in the cage and came home to find her dead.
I guess i'm just looking to make sense of it somehow. I miss her terribly and i want to get another bird, but i don't think i can bear to have another sun conure right now. :orange:
I'm sorry if i don't have this in the right forum. I wasn't sure! Thanks!

I'm very sorry for your loss. Hugs to you!

OMG, I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is hard with it being so recent, but if you can, try your best to think of the love you shared those 11 1/2 years and not the ending which was obviously no fault of yours.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think your desire for another bird could help ease some of the sadness. It won't be a replacement, but another little birdie to make you smile. You are in my thoughts.

I'm so sorry! She was blessed to have you as her caring owner for her years on this earth!

So sorry for your loss.

It's understandable that, while you want to welcome another bird into your life, you may want a different type. There are so many wonderful kinds of parrots you can consider when you're ready.

I was so sorry to hear about your loss. I noticed on the top:D of your page that you have a spanish timbrado canary . I also have one named Lucas I think they are one of the best singers. He is moulting right now but by early Sept should be back in full song

We going through the same thing....our 6 month old Green Cheek died today suddenly. He started throwing up at 9:30 am and by 1:00 pm he was dead. We are having a necropsy done tomorrow. This was our first conure and he absolutely stole our hearts the moment we met him. We are devastated. Hopefully our hearts heal to be able to get another one......but not sure. My heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry.

So sorry for your loss, mine just accidentally was crushed in my sons bed yesterday she sneaked under his blankets... I completely understand your pain. She was my sunshine. May you find comfort quickly. Karen

Oh Ruffled, I am so sorry to read this!
Condolences on your loss.

So sorry for your loss. I can relate to the shock and pain. I tragically lost my Sunconure Anana last Tuesday and I still cry everyday. The emptiness of the house and everything reminds me of her. I’m grateful for being able to share my grief here since every understand how real the pain of losing a precious feather friend is. Thinking of you🌸
