Toy Warning!

This morning I found 2 pieces of the Raffia paper ribbon wrapped around my B&G's neck. As I opened up the cage, he tried to come to me and was choking himself even more. This scared him and made things worse. I tried to break the so called "paper ribbon" by hand but couldn’t. My wife grabbed a scissor as a last resort (I was afraid with him flapping around that he would get stuck), I was able to push his head back through both pieces of the ribbon. I thank God that I was home when this happened and that Cairo is safe and sound.



This toy is a hazard to your bird. The Raffia paper ribbon has loops in the end, this is how my bird got his head stuck. The ribbon does not easily break or pull out in case (when) this was to happen. I tried to find the manufacturer of this toy "Platinum Toys" but have not found any contact information.

Thank you for the warning. You are very lucky this happened while you were home, thank god it only caused a scare and nothing more.

This is the second time that I see a similar toy causing problems, the previous one were not that lucky and she lost her bird.
