Bob sometimes likes to sit next to me on my chair while I work on the computer and I would like to get her a small toy keyboard that can sit in her portion of the chair. Is anyone willing to make me one, or know where I can buy a bird safe one? It does not need to have moving pieces.

For a 'tiel, you could probably just pop the keys off of a regular keyboard and then super glue them back on. I don't think most 'tiels have the beak strength to actually break pieces off and the glued part wouldn't be accessible, although I don't know if you'd want to encourage him to chew on a keyboard, next thing you know he might be chewing on yours. It's kind of like people that give their dogs socks tied in a knot to play with, they always seem to get mad when their dog gets a hold of their good socks and rips them up lol.

Good point, Icy! How about getting her a similar toy or something from a thrift store. They have toy things like that. And if she destroys it, no big deal, and not much money invested.

Max actually has an old calculator, and if he wants to play with my keyboard I just redirect him to that one... He hasn't destroyed it, yet... even though he certainly has the beakability... lol

When I first got Puck, he went for my toothbrush every time I brushed my teeth. I got him his own toothbrush, and he lost interest in all toothbrushes shortly after.

Puck likes to pull the keys off keyboards. I'm thinking of giving him one that's old and doesn't work anymore (after a thorough cleaning, of course). Maybe he'd get bored of it and forget about how fun keyboards are...

I keep meaning to do the same thing with a remote too, because he always tries to take my boyfriend's remote. lol.

You could look for baby or kids toys at yard sales or thrift stores for something. Baby toys r great for birds, I clean them very well then let them have a ball with them. Cost like 50 cents at a yard sale and u don't go broke keeping the birds in toys! Plus they have tons of fun sounds and colors the birds seem to love.

Good idea, but I wouldn't use super glue, which is poison to birds.
You might consider looking in the baby toy section of stores like Walmart. They have different baby toys, like for toddlers. Maybe consider one of those small piano toys with the multi colored keys. Who knows, he might learn to play a song and then you would have a trick pony on your hands.

I need to just get a new keyboard because between the cat and birds, I have a bunch of keys sticking now. They have both managed to post gibberish on forums, lol, and the cat has even sent email! I'm going to clean this old one and give it to them.

I have a friend who gets a kick out of the cat email and sends her stuff back that says things like alndfdiyummymouse;ldnfd.

I would think a kid toy one would be a nice idea as well.
