Toy dyes

Hello everyone.

quick question; how can you effectively remove toy dyes from perches and an
annoyingly cute parrot's lower beak and left food, which is coated in it. -.-

i always use water on perches and feet/beaks whenever this used to happen,
but i've never had to deal with THIS MUCH lol. the blue on his feet and beak
don't seem to budge. ;[

also, my point is to look for a good and safe way to do it of course.

I think they use food dye on toys, which stains anything it comes in contact with. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much you can do to get it off (soaps are generally not safe to use on birds or the items they come in contact with). You can try scrubbing the toys/perches it's stained with a scrub brush and elbow grease, but it's probably not going to help much. The good new is, the dye is parrot safe and your bird doesn't care one iota that his toy/perch/self is stained whatever color. It will eventually wear/wash off his body with time, and probably the cage surfaces as well. Kiwi rubbed his (wet) head on a purple toy once, and had a big purple streak across his head for a good 3-4 months before it all finally washed/molted out (and he gets daily baths!). I try to avoid those dyed wood toys now lol.

When I purchased some of Mishka's perches and sticks they had dye on.
I boiled them in hot water, all the dye was removed.

I know you are not in U.S., but, if you can get DAWN dish soap, we use that when cleaning birds from oil slicks. And I've used it on other dirty feather issues. It has least caustic cleaning ingredients. Rinse him well, after using anything soapy.
