Toxic parrot toys

What's the story about toxic toys. I did a search but found nothing.
I had this email link and wondered what to do about it.

Just read all that. I agree with much of the general statements and quality control is everything.
I would not sign up for the newsletter and toys at that cost.
I would use reputable bird stores such as My safe bird store and I have one here in Canada where I get my supplies from.
Also another option is making your own toys.

There is a lot of controversy about the Womachs various products. I can attest to their early training videos as being very amateurish and teaching a training method called flooding (considered by many to border on abuse). Until I changed my e-mail address, I was flooded with junk e-mail from them. Some people have posted that they don't feel they receive an abundance of junk mail from them, while others, like me do.....

There are other recent post on the forum, voicing both yea and nay about them & what they sell.....one from the UK about buying something for $50USD, paying conversion fees & shipping, only to have them charge $190 to his account the next month.....

As far as toxic toys, you don't have to purchase anything as that info is free, all over the internet & this forum, you just have to learn which materials to stay away from.....in the 30 years I have been on the internet & previous bulletin boards, I've never seen any listing of toxic bird toys, though every once in a while you will see postings of individual toys that have proved dangerous for one or more birds.....

I agree with much of what they say, all pet toys can be dangerous because cheaper material was used. Just look at dog foods, bad quality can have deadly results. some dog foods and treats even have anti freeze in them. I would be stunned if no bird toys were made of toxic material. companies use cheaper products when making parrot toys to they make more money.

The bird tricks toy program is having 3 planet pleasure toys shipped to your house monthly, I love planet pleasure toys but I just go out and buy them. I might be spending a little extra money at times but I know exactly what I'm getting and pick them out with the birds interest in mind.

I also saw this add and am very reluctant. One they don't say which size for a RFM and I sometimes get confused which size to buy him unless I can physically see the toy. I made the mistake of buying larger toys for Valentino that he ignores. He seems to like medium size toys best but some are to be only available on his Java tree which can be played with under supervision and some I can put in his cage for independent play.

I thought it might be a good idea to get toys in the mail every month but then because of my confusion and need to see the toy first I opted to pass. Medium toys are expensive at 40 bucks a month. Holy cow!
