So first I have to say, I got upset at the so called "expert" at Petco. He told me I would have to clip Topaz's wings so I can have control over him. He also said that breeder birds are untamable. (Someone suggested he may have been used for breeding)

So I got home with a new clicker and some nuts. I went and took a sliver of almond in my fingers and from outside the cage offered the treat to him, he took it three times! So I try a nurtiberry but it would fit thru the cage so I opened the food door and stuck my hand in and he took the treat from me.

He is screaming less then he was yesterday and seems content as he beak grinds with a nice loose/fluffy feather. When he screams, I turn my back on him and give him no interaction till he is quite again.

I have hope for him.:yellow2:

What s great start on trust bonding! Way to go! and only day two!!!!!

;) Now go back to petco and tie his shoelaces together ;) because everyone knows that people who move less wil read more and get smart eventually (muhahahahahaha).

Oke back to serious again:

WOW, I am so glad you decided to ignore that buffoon and even more so because you and your bird are *so* proving him wrong (already) :)

I know Topaz is going to take alot of work. I know it scares him when I go put his chop bowl in his cage. (He doesnt seem interested in eating it?)

So far he will take the almond slivers and nurtiberries(with hand in his cage because those things dont fit thru the bars) and when he does, I give him a "click" from the clicker and say softly but in a happy tone of voice "Good boy"!
