How exciting for you all, he is beautiful.
As for the smoking, you will be gaining so much more than a smelly breath LoL
I reached 8 weeks yesterday, and feel so healthy and proud of myself.
YOU CAN DO IT

Good luck with both !!!!!

8 weeks! good for you! I'm having a hard time imagining one day at this point lol. Its going to be tough but I know I can do it! :)

Isnt he georgous! lol I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight....I'm too excited!

Congrats! :) On both the conure and you quitting! :D Both you and your bird will be much healthier because of it! (even if you don't smoke around your bird, I hear it's harmful even on your clothes) Green cheeks are such great birds! They may be small, but they are like small dogs, they don't really think they're small. :p

Just think the bird has no idea how his life is about to change forever.
Imagine what will go through his mind, when arriving at your home.

Enjoy every moment :)
Keep us updated and some more pic's okay
Good luck

Poor little guy will probably be stressed out! Thats another thing I was wondering....should I leave him in his cage for the first day to settle and get used to his surroundings? Or would it be better to introduce him to the house myself? OR should I gage his actions and decide then? lol

I read somewhere that the first day they should have peace and quiet in their cage but when I brought home Yoshi (my crimson belly) He did NOT want to be in his cage and preferred to be out with me, even the first day. So I guess it depends on the bird?

Even though all I'll want to do is play with him and get to know him, he will be stressed out as this will be his 2nd move in a short amount of time.

at least it will be his last!!!! :D:D:D:D:D

Congrats on your new baby and good luck with no smoking! Today was my 1st day to quit. I cheated a couple times :( but I am gonna do it!
I would let the bird decide how much time in his cage he wants. My green cheek wanted to stay in his cage a lot the 1st few days. My bigger birds wanted to be out and about. I think it depends on the bird.

YAYYYYYYY!!!!! He's almost here!!! I'm literally jumping with excitement!! I look forward to hearing all about him tomorrow! As for names, don't think of a name for him yet. Just watch and play with him for a day or two. That will help the naming process a lot faster that way you can study his personality, and name him based on that :D:D:D:D

How exciting for you both. With the smoking just take it each hour at a time, for every hour you sustain is a fantastic achievment, before you know it those hours will turn into days, then weeks.

I agree with the above posts to let your bird decide how long to spend in the cage, It took Shadow a few days before she ventured out where as Chicka was straight out roaming her surrounds saying Hello to everyone

Your little Green Cheek has got people from all around the world jumping with excitement. Yeeehaaa! cant wait to see some more pics, He looks like a cheeky little fella in that photo ;)

HE;S HERE HE'S HERE HE'S HERE!!!!!!!!!! OMG! he is soooooooooooooo adorable!!!!! Very healthy shiny feathers, although looks like he may be molting a little. Bright beautiful eyes, clean healthy beak and healthy poop :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I offered for him to go into his cage but he didnt want to, he wanted to stay with me. He doesn't have "step up" mastered yet but hes learning quickly.

Right now hes eating by the computer with me! His name is Hiroshi, it just kind of came into my head and stuck there :p
