Tips on switching cages for a nervous birdie

My nanday conure, Mort, is very attached to her cage. Some days she won't want to leave it, and the top removes, so if we want her to interact with us in another room we need to tote the top along with us. (Might also partially be because shes not a fan of being handled/ hands/ sometimes even shoulders lol)

I am currently looking at a new cage for her (she has been chewing the coating off the current one, its old) and I need advice on how to help her adjust. I assume, use toys shes familiar with and whatnot, but any other tricks?

The source:
I like Bird Cages 4 Less (all one word when Web Searching). The vast majority of what they sell is Bird Cages.

The cage:
- Look for cages that provide a wide and 'full height' from door!
- Keep is simple! Complex cages maybe nice to look at, but are a bear to clean.

Introduction of a new cage;
- Have the boxes find their way, with time, into the general area you will be assembling the cage.
- Involve you Parrot in the opening of the boxes. If your Parrot likes to chew cardboard, all the better.
- Let the parts set for a day or so!
- Have your Parrot be part of the assembly of the Cage!
- Have your Parrot be part of the placement of perches, etc...

If you have involved enough time for the level of comfort your Parrot needs for new things, it is likely that your Parrot will move right in!

NOTE: I like to assembly the cage upside down! This assures that everything is square and line-up.
