Tiny Space Heaters?

Anyone have any experience with super small space heaters that are PFTE/PFOE free? Brand names, etc?

I'm looking for one of the little boxy ones that are 8ish inches tall. I need to find something fast, and don't have much time to research, so hoping someone here has a little experience and can at least narrow my selection down. Thanks.

I use the oil filled radiator style heaters. They give more of an ambient warmth.

In addition, there are the Ceramic Core Heaters that use high temperature coils, which provide both ambient and radiant heat. NOTE: This group can contain PFTE/PFOE. Generally, the less expressive units are much more likely than the more expensive USA built units, which I have found to be PFTE/PFOE free.

The Oil Filled Radiator Style Heaters are a great choice. As stated, they provide a feeling of 'warmth.' They are a bit slower to come to temperature, but have lower operating costs. They also continue to provide heat after they have been shut-off.

If your goal is rapid heat, the High End CCH meet that need best. If you have a little more time and are watching your operating costs, the OFRSH is a better choice.

Target USA built for either unit. Yes, the cost is higher, but the quality is worth the additional cost!

The ceramic core heaters, is there a brand you know is safe?

Oil filled heaters are just too big for my application. I need something that will fit in the back of a van (..!!). I am not concerned about cost.

I bought mine at walmart. I called the company and they told me it was safe.

I used it in another room for a couple of days then in my room with the birds. No problems.

We have a Pelonis brand small space heater. We've always used it with birds in the room. We got it a few years ago from Ace Hardware. I'm sure they're sold it other places as well. I like it. Good quality and surprisingly not that expensive. It gets hot here more than cold, so we don't need it for that many weeks out of the year.

I saw your post, live in SE Texas and thought what??? It's so hot here right now. Where are you located? I do use the same heater Julie spoke of for my fids when it does get cold because we really do not use heat and refrain from it if possible. So if we get really cold I'll set up the heater for my fids. They do just fine with it.
