GW Macaw - "Jazzy"
That would be three NEW Macaws are coming home in the next two weeks. Our home is going to be crazy and I think I'll be exhausted (but greatful!).

Originally we had two baby GW Macaws coming home the middle of July. The female is weaned and I am driving about two hours this weekend to go pick her up. It looks like I may be rehoming a B&G Macaw from a member here on these forums next week so I will be driving to meet them and get her. Then a week later we are getting our male GW from our local aviary.

Honestly, I can't wait, but wow...

Wow! That is a lot at once but congratulations in either case! I was going to possibly adopt the b&g you are referring too but my hubby thought 2 was enough for now. I'm a little broken hearted but I love my hubby and have to respect his wishes. I can't complain. He did let me bring home Savannah 7 weeks ago. :D

I know she is going to a good home. I'm glad they picked you! :D

WOW is right!! LOL But OH HOW EXCITING!!! And since I'm a total name geek....any thoughts on names for these 3 new babies?????????????? :)

All three already have names. The male GW is name Confetti, the female GW is named Jazzy and out of respect to the current owners of the B&G I will keep his/her name a 'under wraps' until everything is finalized and they feel comfortable enough to reveal the name - although Blanca already seems to know :).

Wow congrats and you might want to go shopping to stock up on bird food, fruits veggies and nuts. and pics please:)

I made it a point not to mention names. I figured it was being kept quiet for now.

You are going to love your gw's! Savannah is a sweetheart and truly represents a "gentle giant". :D

All I can say is you've got your hands full....Having to train 3 Macaws at a time isn't easy....And you should pay a lot of attention to the new birds so they will adjust to you easier. Then that means you kinda leave your other birds out in the cold. Unless your home all day then you can accomplish that pretty good. I got Lola for several weeks now and she is a hand full I tell ya....lol....She's hilarious and silly....Still working on her plucking issue around her legs but they're slowly growing out....I think she had that issue from the first owner cause last owner Heather was dealing with that too....

Grinder, I have an extra shovel if stuff gets too deep......

AWESOME!!! Yes, it will be different, NO doubt about that, but I think you and your wife will love it!!!

Both you AND Blanca are AWESOME choices for the B&G you are talking about. ;) I think you will do great with the one in question.

I can't wait to hear what your household will be like with 3 big macs in it, LOL. You best start making stops to the lumber yard and start stocking up on wood. :D

And please...pretty please....lots of pictures when the homecoming parties start. :)

WOW Grinder your my Hero !!!:) Im going to have to live through you now. You better be posting about each one with pictures

Yes Wendy is right, photos are a must! You have to show us the potential chaos that you will be taking on man!

What's your plan for taking care of all those busy beaks? I mean, what's your toy plan going to be? I'm fostering a cockatoo soon (that's my blog link! hehe.) and have not had the need to store and plan for large toys before. What are your go to cheap options?

Caitlinbird - I've had well over two months to start getting ready for the two GW Macaws so toys won't be an issue in the immediate future :). Every time I visit Confetti I always picked up a minimum of two toys and possibly a perch or some other item. This spread the cost out considerably. My wife was great and bought me this awesome wood bench for the 'bird' section of the living room that is also a storage unit and it officially is so full of new Macaw toys that I couldn't add the new toys and perch I bought yesterday!

For the future I will do the same thing I have done with my other birds. I will watch to see what toys are their favorites and do my best to source wholesale materials so I can make the same ones for them for a little cheaper.

Thanks to everyone for their kind, encouraging and enthusiastic words. We appreciate them greatly. I included a picture of Confetti below. I visited him yesterday. He was in a very playful mood and was eager to get back into the mix with the other GWs (they just let 8 of them out into the play area). I got a great video of Confetti playing with one end of a leather string while another GW had the other end. It looked just like the 'spaghetti' scene from Lady & the Tramp. I forgot to get a picture though.
