Those moments that just crack you up

So, I've recently found out something weird about Oz. He goes crazy when I brush my teeth with him on my shoulder.

He'll chirp, try new whistles I've never heard from him, bob his head, walk around while flapping his wings and press his beak against my cheek/ear/hair and give me kisses. He'll also jump on my head a lot.

It's just adorable and hilarious, but I don't understand it. Any idea what could be causing this? I thought it might be because of the mirror in the bathroom, but if I just stand in front of it without brushing my teeth, nothing.

I thought it might be to get my attention, but if I try ignoring him, he comes to me, but it's nowhere near the bathroom madness. It just really surprises me because Oz isn't all that vocal unless he can somehow see himself. He vocalizes, but once or twice a day (not counting his encounters with the mirror/stainless steel food bowl)

He's also jumped in my cereal bowl the other day... That was the last of them too =P But it was okay because then, we had couscous together to replace the cereal.

He probably thinks the tooth brush is a toy and wants to go after it! I have never brushed my teeth around my birds so I don't even know how they would react to my tooth brush...lol....The crazy things they do!!!!

When I had my first (and bestest ever, ever, ever) budgie, I'd take him with me to brush my teeth. He'd sit on my shoulder and get interested in the color of the brush. Eventually it was one of the sounds he learned to make, the bristles on teeth. It made him happy.

As for my current brat (parrotlet) he's not super interested unless I'm near him. I take him with me sometimes to get ready for bed/work/whatever and put him on a towel on a rack on the door. If I come close he'll attack the end of that toothbrush as long as it's moving. If I stop, he'll just look at me like 'what?' I start moving, he moves in for the kill again. I find no issue with it and it amuses the bird. Just make sure none of that toothpaste or gunk gets near enough for the bird to sample.

Sweet Pea goes nuts when she sees us at a sink washing our hands, brushing our teeth... she wants to lick the water/soap off our wet hands, she wants to taste the toothpaste... none of this we let her do, but if my hands are just wet, she gets a kick from licking the water droplets off, saying "yum-yum!"
