I cant have the dogs in the room when the bird is out because the first thing they go for is the poop on the newspaper...anyone tried this??

i saw these a few days ago and wondered why i never saw them before. Georgie used to come out and stand on her open door a LOT, so much that she had her own little area rug there that i could wash regularly (and toss/replace when needed). so i have never tried it, but it does look interesting.

After reading this thread, we decided to order one to test out and we love it! We tried a few different heights for placement to ensure it didnt interfere with his climbing up to the top. We even ended up ordering another for the side (his other favorite hanging out spot). We thought we'd share a picture too...hopefully the pic goes through.

I used to own the original door skirt. These ones were made of metal and were also larger, but definitely made well! Unfortunately, I had to down size on cages, and the only cage it fit well on was that large cage... so, sold them together.

I haven't gotten any of the new ones, but I would definitely consider it! Heck, may need some by next year!

The door on one of my cages is 18", it doesn't come in that size. I think the closest I can get is two of the 8" sizes and put them side by side. I can get the 13" size though for my other cage. I am sitting here pondering if I need to spend the money on the three of them. How many of you have these?

I like the idea, I still use the trusty newspaper. Anything I can just throw away is good by me. I do have a rug to put there when we have company, it looks better than newspaper.

Wouldn't work for us, as it doesn't extend out far enough. Sugar sits towards the far exterior end of her cage door (we have a smaller "door" that acts like a landing and comes down, that's inside the larger actual vertical-open door). But I can understand it's appeal!

Great idea....I love the idea of these, but don't want to spend more than I have to....lol

We use the cheap clear plastic car floor mats from Wallyworld (made of the same stuff they use to make runners for on carpet) ....under $10.00 for a set of 4. The small (back seat) mats we use for Tinker and Juniors cages...and the large (front seat) mats we use 2 side by side under the drawbridge style door on Chiquita and Mickeys cages.... They are super easy to clean...don't blow around... are practically invisible and are inexpensive if they need replaced.......
