So as many of you know, I live in Australia, oh the joys.. Not!
Flies are everywhere this time of year, it's hot and humid and I can't stand them! Or the weather!
How do you guys go about getting rid of flies in the house? I mean.. There here daily. I hate how they just think its their home. Gr. haha!
So I can't use fly spray, I don't like squashing them on things coz it's gross and dirty, and I have used a fly trap before and they are disgusting.
Maybe I should plant my fly trap plant seeds? Haha!
Seriously though, is there anything I can use around the birds and other pets that will get rid of the flys? Or something to put them off coming to to MY home?
I HATE FLIES! Hate, hate, hate them!

Apart from keeping screens closed....... when i worked in a cafe we tried a few things to prevent the flues coming inside and the best thing i found to work was a fan near where ever they could get in. have you ever noticed that some super markets have an air curtain above the entry/ exit doors (not sure bout melbourne but we have them up here in qld) they not for our comfort :( its to prevent the flies.

your basic pedestal fan is a bit dangerous for our fids toes if they land on them, but u can get box fans. all i can suggest without going into bug zappers and very smelly fly trap jars (they do work but realky stink)

good luck

When I get flies in my house, I wait until evening and then vacuum them off the ceiling with the hose of my Dyson. Gets rid of most of them.
