Parrots
Hahn's macaw, RIP George, Jenday Conure
I'll go first. While watching "Top Gun" for the billionth time, I noticed Kelly McGillis owns an Amazon.

How everything is a potential toy...paper-towel tubes, loofah sponges, wind chimes, I see everything with a mind for toys!

I'm with Kalidasa on this one, everything in my mind is turned into some kind of bird toy.

And I also remember Columbo owning a cockatoo?....I might add more later, lol.

YES! I am always thinking of how everything could be turned into a toy XD I'm always asking my mom if I can have random junk of hers to make bird toys.

Bird poop on people OTHER than myself. Makes an instant conversation piece each and every time, often resulting in good laughs. :D

Oh yes, EVERYTHING is toy potential! The lumber yard doesn't only know me by my first name, but they know the names of my fids, too. :54:

PS. AWESOME THREAD!!!!!

How many chemical smells there really are in this world.

Also always noticing the wild birds now and their personalities.

Yes i am with Sandy, whenever i go outside the first thing i do is watch birds, i have never really done it before, but i always spot them and watch their behaviours, and the way they fly or forage on the ground!

and also, with movies and tv shows, i noticed macaws in the shows that i had watched before, like on the office, steve goes into a pet shop and there is a macaw, or on parks and rec they have a birthday party for a macaw hahaha :D

If I'm ever at someones house I notice how much they spray perfume or use dangerous chemicals and think "Ahhhhh no! oh wait.." lol

Whenever I go into somebody's house and notice something pretty, shiny, not chewed or pooped on I think "How did they manage to keep the birds off that? .... oh wait... they don't HAVE birds."

Along with this I see people wearing pretty jewelry and think "Oh that's so beautiful! My birds would hone in on that in .4 seconds of me wearing it and mug me for it."

Other than the toy ideas, I also look for different foods. Either some exotic fruit, or strange vegetable, or interesting pasta or quinoa. And, of course, trying them myself! And, let's not forget Barretta's Cockatoo.

That Parrot Bay rum liqueur has a parrot on the bottle (obviously) after drinking it for years and never really noticing.

In random conversations I'm in or overhear, I will pick up on misconceptions the non-bird owners have about birds, and of course, I feel compelled to enlighten them! :22: They usually respond with, "wow! I didn't know that!"

The movie 'Rio' and the blue macaw drinking hot chocolate at the start - I was like 'Noooo don't do it!'

I also agree with the 'bird watching' - I've always noticed them but never paid all that much attention... Now I can sit outside watching them for hours just learning about the way they do things in the wild, and trying to think of ways I can allow my fids to do things like them...

My partner thinks I'm nuts because I get so excited about bird documentaries...

I read an encyclopedia of birds from cover to cover without a break because it was so interesting. ..

I gave my sister in law (who is scared of birds) a full lesson on being a parront the other day - I'm sure she couldn't have cared less, but I was so excited to be talking about my fids lol...

I went into a small pet store I'd never been to before and bought some toys, ended up staying for almost an hour talking with the owner about our Fids... Was so happy to find a like minded person in real life lol, and then got upset because this store is 4 hours away from home and I probably won't get to go there again :(
