I just had to go check out their website this afternoon and now I can't stop thinking about him!

No way on God's green earth I could afford him, but I can dream! :D

Bird Hut, Parrots, toys, and supplies - Portland-Vancouver

And I already have a trip planned to go there tomorrow with my Mom! I will get to at least see him in person and talk to him! Maybe he will like me and I could scratch his head????

I'm supposed to be going to get Zilla food, treats and toys, but I see no reason I can't make it a dual purpose trip! :D

Will you have time to talk with your banker before you leave in the morning? It might be a good idea to keep right on driving, if you go by your branch.....

Have a nice day.....

WOW! Lucky you, even a visit with him will be amazing! Have fun and take lots of photos! You have to share the experience with those of us who have never even SEEN a Hyacinth in person.

My banker would sooooo laugh at me!

But I haven't seen one in person for almost 20 years, since I moved back to Oregon from Texas. It will be a treat just to be in the same room as this bird! :D

It would have to be a baby [if I was going to pay that price].

They are fun birds to play with:D

I will try to get some good pics. Maybe even one with me and him together!

Normally Brian won't take birds into the store he can't trust (more or less) to have some out of cage time daily, and that means people walking, talking and petting (you know how crazy people are trying to touch birds when they shouldn't) and then crying when they get bit!

I've been a "stalker" of this store for almost 18 years, so if it's possible Brian will let me play with him.

I've been walking around this store and had birds jump off play stands and hanging toys onto my shoulders and head, try to steal my purse, and whatever I was carrying in my hands. Brian has had to "forcibly" remove a cockatoo from my arm (snuggled into my chest) when she refused to get off me and I had to leave. :D

I'm not sure they have the hy in their store for people to see. I was kind of interested to see him when I went in a while back, but unless I missed him (which I don't think I could have) he wasn't there:(

Based on the birthday he is coming to/at his maturity age he may be testing boundaries and the owners might not trust him or that people know what to do when he pushes. Or he is already sold:p

Jeanne's hyacinth is around the same age and he pushes boundaries now to see what he can get away with every once in awhile.

wow, 12K!! That's a fortune for a bird! :) I've seen some on CL for about ⅓ of this price in $$, but I'm not sure they were not scams (at least some of them probably weren't). But he is a gorgeous baby indeed. He would probably need a whole room in your house to serve his as a cage. :D

He's cute! At the bird stores in Southern Ca. I do see ones up for rehome several times a year. I wonder why? They're always expensive though, even as rehome adults. One currently at a store is $6500 and is 30 years old. They are real beauties, but a bit TOO big for me personally!

I hate to burst your bubble, but when I went there Zorro was nowhere to be seen :( I don't think they actually keep him at the store just because he's a high-profile bird.

He wasn't there a couple weeks ago, but he wasn't on the website a couple days ago either.

I have to go anyways, since that is where I get Zilla's food, treats & toys, so I will know this afternoon if he is there or at the owners house (he lives out in Estacada by my Mom, so only a 23 mile drive from me if he allows visiting)

It's always a fun trip, and I almost always spend a couple hours talking to the birds, and having a great time dreaming of winning the lottery so I can buy a big house and have a couple more birds.

He was on their website a few months ago actually because I specifically remember being kind of excited to see him lol. Maybe it's a ploy to get people in? In any case, they have a bajillion beautiful birds there! SOOOOOOO tempting! I almost came home with a little hans macaw and an elderly YNA:54: If he's there, let us know, because I think a couple of us in the PDX area would like to see him!

I will most definitely let everyone know if I get to see him, but either way they do have some amazing birds and I have almost come home with many over the years.

The B&G comes to mind as a favorite of mine to play with. I am also in love with the female ekkie, she is a doll. And the baby CAG's are all precious! Even the little parrotletts are fun! The rose breasted cockatoo is also darling and fun.

If I ever win the lottery I will be in trouble! :D

He's been on their site for a while- at least a year...

I would think if someone is seriously interested in adopting him, they would let them meet him. Talk to the owner and see what he says...

Wonder why I wasn't seeing him on the website until yesterday? Maybe because I usually use my kindle or phone and yesterday I used the office computer?

I will ask and see what info I can get on him. Maybe Brian keeps him at home since he is such a high profile expensive bird? Maybe he only allows the people to see him who are super serious and have that kind of cash.

I have no idea on the site issue- It could be the device you were using like you said.

Maybe you can convince him there's a few of us "crazy bird ladies" who'd like to meet such a gorgeous fellow like Zorro- set up a date?? :p lol
