Every night before bed I tell Artemis, Angel and Addie a bedtime story :)
Last night it was Cinderbird, a bird-themed Cinderella, lol.

Cinder bird:
Once upon a time there was a beautiful family of birds. They lived happily and were never in serious financial debt. But one day, disaster struck. The mother bird disappeared and never came back! (the press thinks it was a bird-napping).
So the dad bird took care of his daughter alone.
But their financials were messed up. They were poor because of a mix-up in their occupational taxes. So the dad bird decided to marry. He married an evil hag-bird with two daughters. The step-sisters began calling his daughter cinder bird, because they forced her to sleep in the cinders of the fireplace.
One a Tuesday in late June, a letter went out to all the residents of bird land saying the prince was hosting a ball. Cinder bird's stepsisters immediately began fitting capes and hats but cinder bird was not allowed to go.
The evening of the ball, after her stepsisters left, cinder bird was sitting in the garden chirping. She heard a strange sound and puffed her cheek feathers up to her better.. And out of nowhere came a bird in blue robes holding a wand. "I am your fairy bird mother!" She said to cinder bird. With a wave of her beak, the fairy bird mother transformed cinder bird's outfit into a gorgeous robe, turned her millet stalk into a handsome horse, and the toy behind it into a carriage.
Cinder bird was amazed, but she quickly headed off to the ball.
All heads turned when cinder bird entered the ball...
There she danced with the handsome prince bird. :grey: and they fell in love.
But the clock struck 12:00 and she had to go. She rushed away but dropped a small crest feather in her hurry...
The next day it was announced that the prince had ordered a search for the owner of the crest feather! When he came to the door he tried it on cinder bird's stepsisters but it didn't fit. So he tried it on cinder bird.. and it fit perfectly!
The End.

Lol, tell me what you think in the comments! My birdies loved it, they crowded around and listened intently.:yellow1::green1::orange:

Thank you! I made it up and it was so weird I had to post it

Very good and creative. :)

I loved the story! I also love that you make up stories for your birds. I've told adapted fairy tales to dogs and birds for years. It may be weird, but it's fun and I've never met a bird or dog that didn't appear to enjoy it. If I remember correctly the first fairy tale I borrowed was, "The Princess and The Pea," it was told to a belligerent Yorkie that refused to go to sleep, it was such a hit, we kept doing it.

That was adorable! I agree with the others, very creative too! I giggled a couple times because it was so cute :)!

Goldibird was lost in the woods. She was tired, hungry and scared. She fluttered into the next clearing wishing for at least a safe place to rest for a bit.

At first she couldn't believe her eyes. There was a cabin. She was bit wearly at first. Was it safe or not? She remembered a long time ago living in a cabin with some nice people. But she ran away from the last cabin because the people were mean to her.

They yelled at her, hit her cage and called her stupid. She looked around and saw an open window. She ppeeked in and saw three bowls on the table. Hunger won out and she timidly flew over to the table. She looked and didn't see anyone. She listened and didn't hear anyone.

She crept up to the first bowl. It was oatmeal. Her favorite. Hesitatingly she gave it a try. It was too hot. She ran over to the second bowl. It was too cold. At least it didn't burn her crop. She scampered over to the third bowl and it was just right.

She gobbled it all up. Now she was very tired. She looked up and saw a wonderful room to the right. She llooked more closely. She saw many play stands with lots of toys. She was too tired to play but she was starting to feel safer. She at least wanted a little closer look. She flew over and landed on a playstand.
Then she saw three cages.

The first was too little. The second was too big. The third was just right and she decided to just take a little nap.

She woke to the sound of a door slamming and a young girl yelling. Goldibird was terrified and she started screaming. She flew out of the cage and all about in a panic. She was trapped and she was still tired. Shellanded on the curtain rod and watched the girl wearily. Just then a woman and a man entered the room. Before she could react the door shut again.

The new people saw her and they stared at each other for a minute. Then the woman said in a soft sweet voice hey there girl its okay you're safe now. She then leaned over and whispered something in the mans ear and he slipped out of the room.

The woman walked over stuck out her finger and said up. Goldibird tried to remember what that meant. She had heard it before. If only she could remember. The woman said up again and lightly pressed on her belly.

Goldibird suddenly remembered. The woman wanted her. She touched her beak to the finger then stepped up. Slowly the woman reached up with her other hand. Goldibird was too scared and tired to move. The hand started gently scratching her head. It felt so good and she remembered nice people did this for her.

Goldibird was so happy she found a new home. The woman put her back in the cage. Just then ttheman came back with clean water and gave her some. He wanted to pet her too so she let him for a few seconds. Then feeling safe now she went back to sleep.

Here is a story for next time. Feel free to change it if you use it.
