Hi everyone. I was interested in adopting a medium size parrot. I don't know a whole lot about them, so i thought it would a good idea to educate myself first. My husband is really big on reef tanks and he joined a forum and it has really helped him over the last few years. Any suggestions for good first time parrot owners? The bird will be indoors, 4 teenagers, 2 dogs and a 200gal saltwater fish tank.

With a med size you have so many possibilities! How many hours a day can you spend with the bird? How busy is the house? There are some many questions . LOL I would just start reading through the forums and see what stories and pic call to you. Ask questions everywhere! I started out this journey looking for a macaw. 10 year later I still do not have my mac and I love them all!

Your options for a medium sized birds are nearly limitless.
If your hubby joined Reef Central, I'm surprised he hasn't asked for a bigger tank yet. (JOKE....I was a member there when I was into reef keeping, and learned LOTS)
