Cockatiels - Oz & Kaila
So, my sister has a friend over right now and, as usual, I'm brought Oz with me to her room. Her friend starts looking really uncomfortable so I ask her what the matter is. She says: I don't like birds. So I'm like... :( ... Cuz birds are awesome but anyway. as I go to leave, something, didn't see what, startles Oz and he flies around the room before landing on the bed close to her. As soon as he takes off, my sister's friend lets out a big scream. I quickly get him back and into the cage. I ask her if she doesn't like them or is scared of them. I mean there's a difference.

She replies: I don't want him to bite my with his huge, sharp, scary beak. Behold, the mighty beak of the 80 grams cockatiel. Sheesh thank god he ain't a macaw uh?

Whahah!! I love your "behold the big scary beak" comment.

I have a zon (beak quite a bit bigger than a tiel's ;)) and my sister is petrified of Percy LOL! But in sis's defence I must say, Percy hates her and actively "hunts" her when she's visiting me LOL!

Hahaha.. having cockatiels in the past, this made me laugh.
I had a similar experience.. My brother had a friend over and my flighted cockatiel took off to perch on top of the blinds, and his friend SCREAMED like he was being kidnapped and hit he floor!
Of course 12 year old me just looked at him like "Seriously?" and got my bird and took him out of the room.. lol.
"The mighty beak of the 80 grams cockatiel..." I love the way you wrote that hahaha.

This story reminded me of a cockatiel named Lucky I babysat years and years ago.
At the time I had a room mate with two cats, and since they didn't like my room, Lucky stayed with me. One day, I went to go clean his food and water dishes and let Lucky out to play on his playgym so I could clean the cage next. I was in the kitchen when the phone rang, and I got distracted talking to my Mom.
I realize my door is open a bit, say "loveyouMomgottago", and ran to my room just in time to see the female cat, in full stalk mode, about to pounce on Lucky.
That crazy tiel turned his head sideways, spread out his wings, and let out an "AAAWK!" - unbelievably loud for such a tiny bird.
The female cat hid under the easy chair in the living room until my roommate came home almost two hours later. The cat had to be coaxed out with treats and verbal reassurance that the scary bird wouldn't get her!
