the lovebug that's eats cause she's bored?

I have a 6 and a half month old lovebird. We got her about two weeks ago and she is doing great. She is very resilient yet cautious and at the same time she really trusts my husband and I. I was wondering though, it seems like she eats all day. Yes i know lovebirds really like their seed and yes I know she's a baby but is this normal? Part of it could be that she sometimes pretends her food dish is another bird? What should we do? (and yes we get her out everyday more than once a day, she's happy) Oh and yes she has lots of toys that she enjoys too. She's actually rather spoiled lol.

My lovebird was the exact same way. It is just her personality. Mine was a little chow hound. It would eat its seed all day...but, it's favorite was eating my food. We always ate together and it would make all these little squeaks and chirps of delight. Your bird is a FOODIE. Just research what will kill them. I've heard that avocados are deadly. Chocolate too.

She sounds lonely. I would suggest getting another bird (that she will tolerate) and who likes your bird. They talk to each other and snuggle and feed and preen each other sometime. It's healthy. Just a suggestion. I think that your bird will be happier if you get one that she'll get along with.
