So an update for anyone who is interested or has followed any thing about my conures
Loki my sun who has rebelled about the pellets since I brought him home has finally decided to eat the Roudybush! Apparently, I was feeding him the wrong size.....macaw size is what he wanted....talk about a bird who thinks he is much bigger then he really is! Should have guessed he would want macaw size pellets..he thinks Folgers foot toys are his size foot toys.
And the Folger sized foot toys. He just loves wood. My only one...
Next is Monster my male gcc! This is my plucker who I thought would do much better caged with my female and flighted...turns out I was right! He has stopped plucking and is no longer a super skittish bird. I think being flighted has helped him be more confident about his ability to get away if something goes wrong. He no longer jumps at every little thing. I have no idea why the following pictures make him look like puckish green. He is actually really blue...
And last is Monkey! She has laid 4 eggs so far and is on her 5th one. I have let her keep the original eggs and am candling them to make sure they are not fertilized. She is sitting them but first she pushed them out of the nest a couple times, rearranged all the bedding, cracked one of them, and completely ignored them for the first week. I guess she finally figured out she is supposed to sit on them and she also plucked feathers to sit them of course. My vet said not to worry about her unless she is laying more then 6 every year since she is healthy. I got a picture of her since she decided to come out and visit since I've left their door open the last couple hours for Monster to come out. Monkey is still very friendly. I'm guessing the fact she is pretty bonded to me has helped!
