Lilo - Female Green Cheek Conure ~ Pal - male cockatiel ~ Pheobe - female cockatiel
Lilo is my baby, I love her more then I like myself! But she is so mean! Not to me because I know how to handle her for the most part but she attacks my mom, dad, dogs, cats, everything! I'm so scared that she wil get bit by the dogs and the cats well they are out side so I don't really worry about them but she bit my dad and he bled for two days and he said the next time she does that she goes! :( My mom pulls away and yells no at her but it makes Lilo more mean to her. When she used to bite me, I would push into her bite so she now knows that I don't stand down from her. Please help! I don't want any thing to happen to her! :(

Socialization, socialization, socialization. Conures live in a large flock and are always pushing to see if a new stronger leader is needed. We humans, treat them as equals and they think they're as much in charge as we. In fact,, they'd be just as happy with a good strong leader. Conures, macaws, they're not far removed from each other. They will test their boundaries to make sure the strongest leader is leading the flock. It's up to you to set the limits for behavior, just as it is your duty to socialize.

Do you laugh when she runs out from under your shirt to attack your sister? You do have a responsibility here.

So what should I do about her attacking the dogs?

Why not use positive reinforcement training????
