The Girls Decided It Was A Bother Mom Night

My mother always bad mouths the tiels and says they don't like to hang out but these two seek me out a lot Apparently I looked bored laying on my bed playing on the computer



Ryner has a bad habit of always trying to groom my face so she tends to hang out up near my head....and then when my attention wavers slightly she tries to pull my nose ring out and run for it.

And now they have their butts up in the air while they eat...apparently eating my computer and bothering me is hard work...

The fat giant's nickname is Pigeon self explanatory

I never said they were not adorable... actually the girls and Dante are beautiful birds... but looks only get you so far

The girls are very attached to mom, but I think they both still see her as their mother, literally... these are the girls that were the oopsie babies (dad was a rescue that we were told was a girl)... And dad plucked them clean of every new pin when they were about 10 days old. If Victoria had not checked on them when she did, they would have been dead within hours. Literally there were tiny little dots all over the nest box from all the blood of Renji picking out the pin feathers. So from about 10 days old, Victoria became a full time mom They even went on trips with us, they went out to the PA Renaissance Fair, have been to Hershey (they stayed in the hotel, don't worry, no roller coasters for them) and their big road trip was down to Gatlinburg, TN for a Thanksgiving 6 day getaway. They were well traveled babies

Yet, with all that said, still not a big fan of tiels... I have more attachment to the girls just because of the whole story and helping Tor with saving them (she did all the work, I just helped and provided the plastic to finance it).

Adorable yes... but if for whatever reason I was forced to choose between the tiels and the green cheeks... well.... ummm....

Thanks for sharing their sweet story! Now I like them even more. The GCC's are adorable too. We all have our soft spots. How do you feel about quakers?

I have never had the pleasure to meet a Quaker, for whatever reason they are illegal in PA... some logic about them being able to survive and thrive if let lose... I know they are the hardiest of the parrots... not that I would mind have a Quaker family nesting on my porch
