Not only do I have macaws, I am also owned by a very opinionated little girl ekkie. She is a Solomon Island and she is a true dive with a capital D! I love her colors and her personality.
She has a rather long name due to my very good friend in New York helping me name her. My friend loves anything southern & thought my ekkie should have a proper southern name. And I think she has picked up my southern accent. A few days ago she was talking and I heard her say: "Whateva" . The macaws just say it like it should be.
So here is Miss Leyla Belle La Ru Longhorn in all her splendor. And I have been working on getting her to say this phrase: "Well bless your heart, I do declare. My name is Miss Leyla Belle La Ru Longhorn and don't you forget it!" in as southern an accent as I can muster up. She loves it when I say that to her.
