Hi Frank, speaking of water turtles... I was wondering, do all aquatic turtles ALWAYS carry Salmonella as part of their 'normal bacteria'? Or, is it that only SOME of them are carriers?
I always see this warning regarding reptiles and always on water turtle tanks and was wondering this. Thanks.
I kind of wonder if the salmonella has more to do with what they eat opposed to where they live. I'm personally looking into a blue tongued skink, and the guy I was talking to was telling me about a this one gecko that you don't have to worry about salmonella with because of his diet, or worry about UVA/UVB with them either... and this guy has a crazy amount of reptiles ! I think he has 52 animals in total, 6 of which are cockatiels and one of those happens to be blind - the poor bird. He's a sucker for taking care of things and a herp-obsessed man
But that'd be nice to know, so I anticipate your answer as much as Julie does right now
