It isn't the best video, but you can see the beating heart of this cockatiel chick. It's magical. The egg was laid 6 days ago. It's better toward the end.

Honi is the mother, raised in my home. She is a Dominant Silver White Face Ino split to Pied and possibly split to Recessive Silver. The slight tan you see is the Dominant Silver coloring, not soiled feathers.

Malkier is the father. He is a Grey split to Pied, Ino, Cinnamon, and possibly Pearl. He was acquired this year.

I wish the video was better but the heart is so small and my phone was having a hard time focusing. You can only see the heart for a couple of days during incubation.

Next baby!!!!!

I'm freaking out you guys: I didn't think this pair would produce this year. Dad is on the young side but I paired him up with an older hen to "practice" for next year. Well today I candles the eggs out of habit and look what I found!

This is the beating heart of an Indian Ringneck chick in the egg!

The second video is apparently down at the moment, but the first one floored me! Beautiful, Dani! Thank you for sharing that!

I'm trying to figure out why it isn't posting. IRN eggs are so much larger than cockatiels that the video is much clearer. I'll try again later.
