- My beautiful SI Eclectus Zephyr and my handsome B&G macaw Vandal, daughter's Sun Conure Loki and son's GCC Blaze
I officially win, and his name is going to be Vandal!
AND... he gets to come home NEXT WEEK!!! Barring unforeseen circumstances, of course, but yep.. next week. Chaz (the man who is raising him) says that he really isn't interested in his baby formula anymore, although he does sometimes like to be fed applesauce from a spoon in the afternoon, which I plan to continue doing with him. Vandal has mostly been eating real foods for quite a while now and has loved them from the moment they were offered.
Vandal wanted to chill out on my shoulder for a lot of today. He kept putting his head down and laying it on me so that I would scratch his neck (and he would scratch my neck in return.. hehe.. I think I need a denim turtleneck).
I haven't painted my nails in months (all my supplies were packed up and I just dug them out this week) and he found them fascinating. I can see we're going to have to work on "Mom's nails are not candies".
And here's one of us looking goofy together.
Then I could tell he was getting sleepy so I moved him down to my arms and he rolled over like my little baby to have a catnap in my arms.
When he woke up he really wanted to play on the floor for a bit, and I ended up following him around while he explored the floor.
Which, of course, tuckered him right back out into a lap-baby so he could take another nap. And now I'll spam you with sleepy-baby-birdy pictures because he's so stinkin' cute that I can't decide which one to post..
