Thanks, and new introduction

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks for the great forum. I have been a lurker for about a month and have learned so much. I love all the stories, advice, photos and videos.

I don't own a parrot yet, still on the journey to find the right bird for me. One problem is there is something to love about each of the different species.

Right now, I volunteer at two rescue bird shelters in the Phoenix area. Mostly cleaning cages, feeding them and lots of sweeping and mopping. Can someone say "messy birds"...

Last week, I got the chance to use the skills of my profession and photograph some of the birds so the rescue shelter can update their website. Right now the images are just on my site. Here is a link if you want to see some of the parrots. Arizona Exotic Bird Rescue Hoping to photograph the rest of them next Saturday. First time photographing birds, any tips would be appreciated.

welcome to the forum and thank you for sharing the pics, great job. Messy birds is an understatment with just my little guys. That is great that you are working at the bird rescues. You get a lot of experience and can really learn the different personality traits of the different types of parrots.

You must be lucky to help volunteer, and if you ever do end up adopting/buying a bird, I'm sure your experiences at the rescue places will greatly help you be prepared for ownership!!!

The photos look great! I think you did a great job! Best photos are often those when the bird is doing something, a silhouette, etc with great lighting and backgrounds! You have better photos than I could ever take!
