Wow! That's scary 325 isn't really that high D: I do not like teflon, I wish those chemicals never were created. I used use teflon and I always felt a little sick, and often had headaches for up to 3 days. I later learned I had teflon sickness all the time.

Teflon is scary stuff for humans as well as birds. Even if I didn't have Kiwi, I would still be sticking with stainless and cast iron. Ive never really had problems with food sticking anyways. From my understanding, Teflon coated pans and bakeware actually start to chip/flake over time, and it gets into the food and is toxic when ingested. And if that's true, that means you have to keep replacing them over time when they start chipping which is way more expensive in the long run. A good set of cast iron or stainless will last generations, so it's a one time investment even if it is a tad more expensive up front.

i didnt know the exact numbers, but i did know that is is bad when overheated. thats why i made my mom get rid of ALL of our teflon stuff. except her nonstick grill thingy. when she usues that(not often at all, once or twice a month) i have to take cooper in my bedroom(other side of the house) and i open a window just to be safe. teflon is sooooo dangerous to birds. if you have birds i highly reccommend to get rid of it. we have all SS now and i like to cook with it more.

Mrgoogls, if you're using teflon pans, you want to open the window near the stove/range & put a fan in or near it, blowing out...a best case would be to use a stove/range vent fan THAT VENTS TO THE OUTSIDE...just venting back into the kitchen is no good & will disperse fumes/gasses further into the house.....if you open a window at the other end of the house, there is a chance that you will be drawing any fumes/offgassing through your room & out that window.....
