taming a senegal?

hope this is the right place to post this i've taken over a senegal from my dad, (not going to go in to the reason for taking him over), how ever he doesn't like me, the only time he lets me into his cage is when i'm feeding him, now my question is will i ever be able to tame him down enough so i can let him out of the cage with out being bit?

Was he EVER tame at all? Was your dad or anyone able to handle him? If so, like Karen said, time and patience, and bribery sure doesn't hurt either! For now I'd let him get used to the new environment and get comfortable before you expect him to want to make new friends. There's plenty of time!

Try to think of it as you need to win his trust rather than tame him down - you need to let him know that you're not a threat, and that your company is going to be a source of pleasure rather than a cause for concern.
