My mom just called to ask about how my cat was doing and to tell me about her dog and it's new food. Her dog has many of the same issues with food as my cat does, and has also been sick again lately.

Merlin and the other birds do make talking on the phone difficult, lol! But, Merlin picked that moment to test out one of her new "monster sounds". My mom can't hear well, but she could hear that, lol! She asked, "What is that bird doing? Belching?" I said, well, she does do belches, but this is some new sound. It was a very funny sound though and I immediately started laughing, which didn't help. But, then Merlin laughed again. That's another of her new sounds.

I had a similar experience last week. I was talking on the phone to my mom and I started to laugh at something she said, Mozzie (blue crown conure) heard me and started laughing, then Peppers (Cag) started laughing, then I started laughing harder, then my mom started laughing. We were all laughing so hard! It was pretty funny.

Oh...I hear you..I absolutely can not talk on the phone in the presence of my birds. And heaven help me if I let out a chuckle or a sound closely resembling a laugh, my tiels and conure make me have to leave the room...problem is, I have birds upstairs AND down...so I usually have to talk on the phone in the stairway landing.

One day, on the phone with my neighbor...my birds start up...of course...and I said
"Geesh! They're as bad a kids, quiet ALL day long, self entertained...UNTIL the phone rings, then suddenly they need ALL my attention!"

She busted up laughing..."Sooo true!"

Frankly...I wouldn't have it any other way...I love them all SOOOOO MUCH!
