hey everyone! i want to get cooper a harness very soon since its getting so nice outside. but when i take his outside should i let him in the grass or on trees or anything? i dont want him to get sick from a bug or plant he shouldnt chew/eat. my grass was sprayed last year but not this year. is it safe? also can he eat "helecopter" seeds? there are a TOOOOOON of them in my yard. anything specific i should avoid?

PS: i took his outside a few time in his travel cage(didnt let him out even though he is clipped. way to many bad stories) but he didnt act any different than inside. everyone here says how their birds LOVE going outside, but cooper doesnt seem to care. whats up with that??

Basil goes crazy when he's outside. I drag his great big cage onto our deck so he can get some sun. There is a lot of birdie activity in my yard and he calls and peeps and sometimes he gets so excited he does some of his "cage tricks" (twirling around his perch and dancing). I don't keep him out for long because it is very exciting but I figure the fresh air is good for him. He always naps well once he's back inside too. Just like when the kids were babies!

can anyone help answer my questions?

I would think he would love it outside on a harness but I am not sure about maple seeds. There are lists of bird safe plants and trees, maybe try looking at those. There are lots of pics on here with birds enjoying themselves out door while on a harness. :)
