Safira (B&G Macaw)~~ Gracie (CAG) ~ Lucy (CAG)
My office is being taken over by bird cages! It is now an office/bird room.

I got a large 40x30 cage for my Macaw, used, cleaned it up and set it up so she can hang out in there at night. She has night-frights in her massive cage in the living room. I also wanted to see if she liked the dome top better than her corner cage, so far she does. Its a little smaller then I'd like but it works.

Then the greys! I plugged in an air purifier and we'll cross fingers and see if this works! Eventually I'll move my computer out of the room and set up more stuff for birds.

Thats what my bedroom looks like.lol. I have three cages in there and soon I will have two more in my living room. I personally like to have the cage in my room because my other pets cant get in their and I like to watch them play in there, their playstand is also in there.

Your bird room looks good. I will stick with one bird and one cage. Only have 600 sq. feet of living space anyway. Love their cages.

safira, love your bird room! I notice that you don't use the seed catchers, is there a reason for that? just curious, because my macaw will at times stand in the corner on the bars and poop out of the cage

I don't use the seed catchers because I swear there is always stuff stuck in them that I can't get out without removing them anyway. It's just easier to clean the floor of anything that falls on it. Rowdy would shoot the poop past one anyway. She can shoot it out 2 feet. Luckily she is the only poop shooter. Pete and Merlin are very neat compared to her. They don't throw food like she does either. Whenever I would sweep under and around the cages, my Blue Crown would start throwing food out. I think she thought I liked cleaning it up and was trying to help me out.

I dont use seed catchers either, I find it is easier to put newspaper on the floor and change it when it gets soiled.

For me it is much easier to clean the floor then try to clean out seed catchers. I have Pergo floors so it's a quick and easy wipe up!

Not only that, but I am accident prone and can see myself hitting my shin every time I go to the cage!

i love how i learn the greatest things just by reading everyone's post! I put the seed catcher on my cage and hated how it made it fit in the corner! So i took it off wondering how much more work i am making for myself and if im making a big mistake! Thanks again everyone!!!!

And i love the bird room! im hoping i can in the future get more birds! i would love a blue crown conure lol. I want to excel at one bird first though lol
