I want to get one of those sometime. Kathie, of Mysafebirdstore has the medium ones for $88.49 plus an extra 10% off with the code you can find, and free shipping. She's out of stock of a lot of them right now, but here's hoping she gets more soon. :)

Ahh, I have been looking at these. It's crazy expensive to ship to Australia though. I'm considering just getting a small crate and filling it with bird products from the US. :D Shall see!

Alisana! I'll be in on that :) I'm from Queensland too and it's so frustrating how expensive shipping is!

I wanted a java stand for my birds as well, but they are expensive!
I had a number of java branches that I wasn't using, so I came up with this idea....sort of thinking outside the box :)

I went to our local antique mall, and paid $10.00 for the table.
we drilled a hole in it, which was the exact same size as the bolt, and attached the wing nut from underneath...it took less than 10 minutes to do.:)

I did the same thing just with a piece of plexi glass so I can move it from place to place. In total the branch ran me $20 and the plexi glass I had laying around. Was a lot cheaper than the premade stands that were $60 and up.

Can those of you outside of the US make your own treestands/perches using another type of wood that is safe?

I was given a table top manzanita tree and converted an old microwave cart to be used as part of the base. With a little bit of imagination, one can come up with something inexpensive.

I have one for Rosie, I love it! I got mine from my safe bird store, although they only have like 1 or 2 left. I had to put vet wrap on Rosie's to give her a excellent grip.
