Green cheek conure - Sydney (Syd) Hatched 2/2017
Syd who is normally a fairly quiet soul today has screeched most of the day. It was his real 'Mum there's danger about - do something about it' screech and try as I might I couldn't settle him.

Each time he was out he was fine and cuddly as usual and I simply didn't make the connection that it might be something in his cage. As far as I could see everything was normal. It is now after 4pm and he started again and on arriving next to him I suddenly realised he was staring at the floor of his cage.

There it dawned on me. On the newspaper lining his floor was a large picture of red flowers! I have a shopping bag that has red flowers on it and every time he sees it he goes bonkers. No more red for you young man. My ears are hurting after today.

for clark it's any type of black pot or black cup. I dunno why but it solicits an immediate fear chirp. Each bird has their own thing I guess.....

My 2 girls HATE the color red also. Ollie hates small blue items and purple is often found to be suspicious lol. Finley is scared of the couch....

Since moving the offending paper peace reigns once more. AHHHHHHHHH!!!

Birds are so funny when it comes to what they're afraid of. The funniest fear, and I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help myself, is my U2 is afraid of pancakes. He loses his mind if he even smells them cooking, and forget actually seeing them.

Now that is crazy. Do you flip them so he thinks it's a peculiar prey bird?
