I made some easy sweet potato chips today and they were a hit!
I just peeled a sweet potato and sliced it really thin, sprinkled with a little vegetable oil, laid flat on a cookie sheet and sprinkled with red chili flakes, and baked for 2 hours and 20 minutes at 200 degrees. I misread the recipe and it should have been baked for 2 hours at 250 degrees but they still turned out:)

Talli and Pisces enjoying the end result:)

I can tell by Talli's expression, they turned out great! Great pics of beautiful Talli and Pisces, Terry, thanks for posting the pics! I have to make sweet potatoe chips for my flock.

Allee, I am going to use your recipe with coconut for next time, that also sounds yummy!
Pisces and Talli thank their Auntie for her compliments:)

Look great Terry and obviously a hit with Talli and Pisces. Will try some next time have some sweet potato in, see if Mr Fussy Pants likes them LOL?

Oh, I want to make some now, Terry! Those look tasty. I might even share them with the fids.

Let me know if Plum likes them!!! Most of our guys liked them, but Ekko looked at me like I threw a bomb in there or something. You just can't please 'em all:(

Ha! Funny you say that, they smelled so wonderful that I had to take a bite, and they were so hot I thought I was on fire..lol. I didn't warn Hubby and he tried one last night...oops.
Next time I may flavour with a little orange and cinnamon.

I think sprinkling them with just a little cinnamon sounds amazing! If I make them like that, I may not share with the fids. How did you cut the sweet potatoes thin, did you use a mandolin, or just a knife?

I just used a sharp knife and it went pretty easily. The thinner, the better, the thicker ones were not as crisp, but Talli liked them just as well.

Sounds good, that's what I think I'll do anyway. I've tried using a mandolin with sweet potatoes before, and they are almost too dense to really go through the blade. Of course, maybe cutting them thinner might not be as bad, I was trying to slice them to make fries out of.

I was going to try to use my food processor but was too lazy to get it out..lol. I bet a mandolin would work perfectly! I really need to invest in one.

I only got my mandolin and food processor due to my mom upgrading her stuff. I get a lot of my kitchen tools that way, like my stand mixer. I love it when my mom gets new things!

That's how my daughter gets most of her kitchen things too!
I just found a mandolin on sale that I think I will pick up Monday...thank you for the idea!
