[ANSWERED THANKS]"Supporting member" fee - is it US dollars?

Can somebody just confirm/advise whether the fee for becoming a supporting member is US dollars? Thanks.

I don't need any of the extra benefits, just thought I may contribute for all the information learned. $9.99 is minute compared to a yearly magazine subscription. Where else can you meet new friends, help others as well as yourself, and get up-to-date information in the avian world?

Yes, that's what I was thinking too, Merlee. Unfortunately, it turns out that for me it isn't as simple as buying a money order and sending it off. :(

I just had a quick look, Strudel, and there's an "order" button which suggests a link to a secure page for payment via credit card. There should also be the option of PayPal which is a universal, safe means of payment. I use it all the time on Ebay. The only issue with payment in foreign currency, besides the conversion rate which is often a ripoff, is the "foreign currency conversion fee" which might be AUD2.50, which is a big addition to AUD11 or so for the membership upgrade. Many OS Ebay sellers list, and have accounts in AUD for that reason.

Thanks, Mike, but for reasons I don't want to go into, I disagree that Paypal is safe. It was the ability to pay otherwise than online that attracted me, but hit some hurdles posting payment. :(
