Sunny, He's a 7 month old Sun conure. (7/14)
Hello Everyone,

It's been a few months since I last posted life got crazy and as I went from a brand new parrot owner to one with a bit more experience my time became much much less. But you guys gave me a lot of help in the beginning and I'd like to update you on how sunny is doing.

Sunny is now 10 Months old, he is now fully flighted we have a few places in the house set up for him to hang out on. He still sleeps in his cage but other than that gets free reign of the house during the day. (I work from home so it's not without supervision)

He now has a flight harness and We've only used it once to go for a walk out side and he wasn't a huge fan of putting it on. I'll keep you updated on future adventures and video/photos.

His biting has stopped and has been replaced with Clicking noises laughter and lots of preening. I have recently built him a super play palace so he can enjoy him self and not clip any more of my headset wires (4 and counting) All and all he's really healthy and really happy.

I've attached a couple photos of him and his new play structure.

Ooh, I love that play palace! I bet he has tons of fun there.

Sunny is gorgeous! Look at all that bright yellow. My Sun is named, "Sunny," too. Great name. ;)

Congrats on the harness and the rest of the progress.....but the wire chewing is an issue that could have serious complications if he were to bite into the wrong wire! Headset wires are safe enough, but speaker wires on a high-powered system can carry the jolt of a car battery or more, enough to stop a bird's heart.....and if a bird graduates to electrical power wires, it will electrocute him.....

Did you make it or buy it a store, skitz would love it, sunnys looking good also
katina and skitz

I built it, final cost with buying everything was 105$, not counting hte 20 dollars I spent on amazon for the build your own toy bundle. Also I have material left over (10ft of pvc and a hand full of attachments) price also includes the 15 dollar pvc cutter I bought.

I think the wire clipping had to do with him not having enough toys to play with. He had a few in his cage but since he roams freely through the house, he almost never played with them. after the last headset (roughly a month ago) i made him some foot toys and now the jungle gym and he's happy he doesn't bother going for the wires any more. But I'm keeping a close eye on him. It was normally the headset wires when he was on my should while I was working and I wasn't giving him enough stimulation. But now he plays on the gym all day.
