So Isla is my beautiful conure! i was told she’s a sun conure but i’ve had a lot of mix messages from people to what she is. i’ve been told she might be a sunday but then others say jenday or sun.

She’s 4 months old now. it’s so hard to tell since she’s still young. Any ideas?

At that age Sun's will look like Jendays. When I got my Sunny, at Six Months old her back was entirely green with only Faint hints of yellow. Everyone who met her, including at her original Vet checkup, they said, "Are you sure she's really a Sun? We think she's a Jenday." At that time, my response was, "Well Petco labeled her a Sun and they've no reason to lie; they charge the same overly-high price for either." (Also, I got her because I fell in love with HER; her species-name to me was merely information.)

Now here we are a year-n-half later, she is bright yellow's & oranges all over & the only visible green is on her tipes & edges, & tail -- there's no question she's a Sun.

SO... IF your Breeder told you she's a Sun, or you got her from someplace like MY local Petco (which has a really GOOD bird department), or from another place with either an excellent bird department or else with a corporate structure where they would be interested in labeling their product accurately, then your bird probably really is a Sun, despite current appearance.

However if it came from some random bird-seller then at This Point I'd Maybe Guess Jenday too... but with strong caveat, those colors are probably gonna change dramatically over the next few months.

(Your bird is quite beautiful, in any case!)

How cute!! You’ll get an answer when she’s older but she might even be a mix, called a Sunday!

No matter what she is beautiful! My guess is she is a juvenile sun conure…they only lose the green from the chest and get more yellow on the mantle/wings after their first molt. My Hazel is 100% sun conure (I have both her parents who have much more yellow as adults) and she will be 4 months old next week.
