Hi,
I am new user to this forum, i got sun conure about three months before, he cannot fly yet, he is plucking his wings, please tell me what should i do. how could i start training him?

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new sun conure! How old is he? Did you get him with this wings already clipped? In some conures, clipped wings encourages feather plucking, but this is not the only cause. Diet, stress level, boredom, cage set up, humidity factor, skin condition are all possible causes for plucking. Not to mention bacterial/parasitic causes.

I highly advice you bring your bird to a certified avian vet so they can help you address his plucking. The earlier it is addressed, the easier to fix. Before thinking of training him, get the plucking behavior checked out first. Try to keep him as comfortable and as stress free as possible. Give him light showers or baths in the mean time, but please do plan a vet visit soon.

I suggest googling tips for new owners, what to feed him, what to avoid etc. Start your search in this forum, look at all the sticky posts (I'm too lazy to pull them up for you but they are all over the place I promise). Good luck, keep us updated. Hope your sun gets better very soon!

I was told by a vet that sometimes if the wings are clipped when the first one or two feathers start to grow out it can cause discomfort and the bird will pick at them.
