Sun Conure Taming

I'm might be getting a breeding pair of sun conures from a person that is getting rid of them and I was wondering. The thing is is that they have never been tamed or socialized.

Would it be possible to tame these birds?

I'll explain later.

This is a difficult question and a good one. First do you know how old they are? I would say if they are bonded to eachother it may be difficult for them to bond to a new owner. That is my first thought. As far as taming, that would take a good amt. of time and patience. Are you prepared for that? Will you keep in sep. cages? Lots of questions to this one. Remember the old saying - you do't get something good for nothing. Have you visited them yet to see their reaction to you?

Ok this is not the most difficult thing to do but it is very time consumeing . The first thing is its easyier to do with young birds. if older it can take up to a year. The key thing is haveing them out of the cage spending time with you. If they bite hold there beak with your fingers or when they go to bite quickly pull your hand back.

I was told that the birds are 10 years old but I was sent pictures of the birds and I really doubt that they're sun conures.

I mean the older they are, the more set in there ways they tend to be

Well I went to look at them and they weren't sun conures but I still adopted a pair.

The reason I thought that they were sun conures was because that's what the vet thought that they were and I didn't see any pictures of the so I didn't know what they looked like.

Thanks for answering my question though. :) It still kind of relates to the birds I got because they are 10 years old and they're a breeding pair and I still want to try and tame them.
