Sun Conure- Jewel
My wife and I have been doing a lot of research lately and we have decided we would like to add a Sun Conure to our family! Is there anyone on this forum that is a sun conure breeder near northwest ohio? Does anyone know of a good Sun Conure Breeder in Ohio? When I search online, I just don't feel the adds I find are really from good reputable breeders. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello :) And Welcome to the forum!!
I am a new sun conure myself, it wasn't really planned... I found him, but he's an amazing bird..
Have you guys contemplated adopting a bird in need? There's a lot of sweet and well socialized sun conures in the rescues.. That could be a nice option as well... Mine is between 2-5and he's SOOO good, he speaks a little, rarely screams, and eats like a little pigglet, always wants to be with me..He bonded instantly..

Just a thought :)

Have you tried Sugarcreek Bird Farm? This is a great place in Bellbrook Ohio. They have an out door aviary with lots of different birds flying around for you to interact with weather permitting. They had a baby sun but I'm not sure if it has been sold. You could check, they have some babies still in nest but I don't know if they have suns. I was just there and I know they have a lot of gcc's. Tell them Lynn sent you! They are very nice people!

My blue crown came from Ohio and i am SO happy with him and was very happy with the whole transaction. they get updates on what Gilbert is doing and are good with communication. I got from In a Pickle. At that time i had just contacted a number of places who bred blue crowns and i liked them the best....and they had a baby for me!

Brian, I checked out sugar creeks website and that place looks amazing! We have planned to visit there this saturday, but they only have one sun conure, and I am sure in 2-3 months when we are finally ready to bring one home, he will probably be gone. But at least we will have a great day there on saturday.

Ruffled, do you have a name for the breeder or store?

Hi again! I go by brianlinkles (my husband and my name combined) I think you will have a blast at Sugarcreek! Tell them that Lynn sent you, maybe they have more suns coming. Not sure. The one there is a beauty!

In a pickle parrots. They have a website and are on birdbreeders.com too. I normally talked to Paul. They had suns but I think that group of them sold.

We are heading to Sugarcreek tomorrow to check out some of the birds they have there. Ruffled thanks for the info, we will probably go check them out next weekend.

If anyone still has any other breeders in Ohio they have used, please feel free to post their information. Thanks!

Okay, so in the beginning of September we are going to the Cleveland area to visit some breeders, specifically the in a pickle aviary. If anyone knows of any other breeders or aviaries in the Cleveland area, please post them up so we can just make a day of visiting breeders and aviaries! Thanks!

I got my Conure at the Bird Loft in Amherst Ohio. It's really a great place. The owners breed the birds and run the store and are very involved. Also they start all the birds on pellets instead of seeds. The birds are very reasonably priced. My local pet stores wanted $400 for a green cheek and I paid $140 at the Bird Loft.

Our Sunday came from Parrotville in Ohio. We shipped him and he walked right out of the crate! :)

He was and is a great bird. Well socialized and happy.
