hay guys I was thinking of getting a bigger cage for Charlie (my sure conure) and getting him a Lovebird friend <3 can they be kept in the same Cage? thanks :):orange::greenyellow:

I wouldn't reccomend it, especially right off the bat, but if you are getting Charlie a bigger cage then you would have the current one available for a lovebird...

I wouldn't recommend even if you've had them for awhile. Lovebirds are vicious towards other birds!!!!

Not safe. They can be friends if they are amiable towards eachother but each bird needs its own space when unsupervised. The lovebird can chase the sun around and bite up his feet and the sun can turn around and kill the lovebird. I've seen it and it is NOT pretty when a larger bird gets ahold of a smaller bird.

I'll be more worried about the sun then the lovebird. When I used to raise them they used to terrorize everyone else. But one of them was raised with a Cockatiel as babies and they never fight. They get along great without issues.

I would not recommend it. Even two suns could fight! They could both do great deals of damage towards one another. :)

ok thanks guys i will buy the bigger cage for charlie and keep the love bird in his old cage do you think they will play with each other? and if they dont get along can it be fixed with time orvwill they never get on?

I highly doubt that! I haven't seen any Lovebird get along with any other birds period. Don't get me wrong, hand tame Lovebirds are sweet little angels but they just don't mix well with other types of birds other then another Lovebird.

Oh lovebirds, they have such a terrible reputation as bullies. I only have one birdie but I am always amused by hearing stories of their inability to get along with others.

My lovebird fits the mold of being super sweet to me, and hating other birds. I can't have her anywhere near my budgies cage or she will fly over and try to attack them.
