Anybody think there should be a easier way to find where to write the topic like if you post something in the wrong topic it would automatically put It to the right topic hopefully this is the right topic I'm doing

Just from my programming experience that would be a pretty complex algorithm and I doubt whatever program is behind this forum has it has an option.

You can use a tip I gave my students when I was teaching English, however: think about what you want to say then narrow it down to the simplest sentence you can and that is your topic. For example: I want to know about the correct diet for my Quaker parrot. Okay, can that be simplified? Quakers are not like Ekkies who have a special diet, so I can simplify my sentence to: I want to know about the correct diet for parrots. That means it should go in the health and diet section (rather than the Quaker or Question and Answer section) because it is specific to a diet all parrots can eat.

On the other hand, if my thought was: I want to know the correct diet for my ekkie, I would think "Hm, ekkie diets are different than all other birds so the topic is specifically diet for EKKIES." I can't simplify it anymore and still get the info I need. So my first choice would probably be the ekkie forum, with the diet forum being second.

Another example: I want to post pictures of my Rosie's new cage. It is a double macaw cage, so many people could put their other types of birds in it, so I simplify it to "I want to show people my new cage" and place it in cages. But if it were "I want to know WHAT cage to get specifically for a Rosie", the thought can't be simplified any more so my main topic is ROSIE cages, not just cages, and I would place it in the Cockatoo section where other Rosie owners are more likely to see it.

It can be a little tough, but once you get the hang of it I am sure you will do fine! Hope my hints help.

And yes, in my opinion ( though I am not a mod), this is the correct topic for your question, as it is a suggestion about the setup of the forum. This is where I would have placed it as it is not "on topic" and therefore would not fit in Q&A.

That's actually very helpful Puck! I'm always unsure of which section to put new threads in. I must say though, this forum does make it easier. It is very well organized and layer out.

You may not believe this, but there are very, VERY few folks who have difficulties finding the appropriate sub-forums to post their questions(s) in.

This site is laid out pretty simple, and it's run using VBulletin, not much programming involved when it comes to creating 'topics', aka sub-forums.

And no, it's not possible to automatically place questions / concerns in the correct category. Again, that's why this site is fairly easy to navigate.

On a happy note, I'm glad to see you posted your suggestion in the correct sub-forum.
