I keep seeing stuffed animals in the cages at my breeders (online live web cam). Is it beneficial for a new baby bird to have a stuffed animal in their cage? Baby girl Tinker will be home later on this afternoon (YAY!!!) and I was just wondering if I should put a stuffed animal at the bottom of her cage with on her towel with her foot toys... Thanks for any info you may have :)

Some birds like to snuggle with the toys, see it as either a warming tool, a cage mate, or just something to snuggle with. It usually helps birds with transitions of cages 'something familiar'

You can get one, I can't see it doing any harm, but then again, she might not want anything to do with it :)

No harm getting one :)

Yup, my Niko had a few stuffed animals in his enclosure when he was a wee little one, along with his brother. :)

But when he came home at 4 months, all he did with the stuffed animal I had plopped on his perch was MUTILATE it. I gave him another one, a different one, and that one also quickly met his demise. :54:

I LOVE how you are thinking of EVERYTHING for your new baby, dulphinz :D

I just want to make her feel as comfortable as possible:).

If you have time make up the stuffie your self. Use polar fleece and then stuff it with short strips of polar fleece. Then if it is destroyed you don't need to worry about dangerous stuffing or plastic parts.
