Can I store seed in a plastic container I store mine in one that is safe for humans to store food in and is free of this chemical not sure what it is like this.

Shouldn't be a problem, though some are concerned with chemicals in plastic.

In that case, an excellent solution. Many people store seed in the freezer for a while to kill insect larva almost always present in seeds.
