I would not.
This is a new to you rehomed bird.
When I got Penny my rescue she screamed for two months. Because she was afraid, uncertain, grieving for her past home and terrible owners. Now that she trusts me, is bonfed to me and feels safe, gets hours outside of the cage. She doesn't scream any more at all period.
You got your rescue, and I saw the cage was way way to small that he came with. It was my thought you were going to get a much larger cage. Are you? Because that's a big factor in screaming, stuck in way to small a cage hour after hour with not much to do.
I mentioned th bird also needs more perches that just two, a that coconut husk he trys to stand on.
I know you said you got some toys , and that's great!
Instead if thinking how to stop the screaming, think instead how to prevent the screaming in the first place.
By having a large cage, by having outside of the cage time daily, by feeding a good diet, providing activities, foraging, and things to chomps on, by having a bond and friendship with the bird.
I know the screaming is rough, I've been through it. But two days isn't enough time to get past that. Hang in there!
